Naomi Canlas is a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) who is dedicated to continual learning and growth for both her clients and herself. She believes there is always room for improvement, but also values victory in tiny successes.
The developmental disabilities community has always had a place in her heart. Her passion was solidified during a medical mission trip to Vietnam. An encounter in an orphanage that housed children with disabilities and comorbid medical conditions taught her about privilege, disparity, and the importance of services for those with special needs. This experience continues to fuel her motivation and commitment to client advocacy, quality care, cultural competency, and further education.
In working in the ABA field, Naomi was able to witness the power that ABA had in changing clients’ lives and outcomes. Because of this, she is pursuing her BCBA credential and is currently in a Master’s program in Special Education. She hopes to one day explore or contribute to applications for ABA in the hospital environment for medically impacted cases.
