Nicholas Ascolese

Nicholas has been working in the autism field for over 15 years. His passion was instilled from an early age when his sister was diagnosed with Downs’ Syndrome. Throughout his teenage years he worked for Department of Social Health Services (DSHS) in Washington State providing care for individuals with disabilities. This passion was further sparked when he worked in a basic research laboratory at Gonzaga University that practiced the universal laws of behavior analysis with pigeons.

His love for ABA grew into a career when he began working with children with ASD in San Diego in 2005. For 15 years he has worked, initially as a Behavior Technician and currently as a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). He most recently has specialized in managing TRICARE insurance beneficiaries and being on the forefront of the Autism Care Demonstration Model that began in 2008.

In 2013, Nicholas wanted to further spread his passion for ABA when he became an adjunct professor at National University. He since has been teaching for 7 years at multiple Universities in the San Diego area, hoping to develop and innovate the field with his unique perspectives. He currently is helping to build a Masters of Science in ABA program at Cal State University San Marcos, beginning in 2021.
